From Morning Prayer:

Octave of the Nativity of the Lord
St. David the King

When the time came for purification according to the law of Moses, they brought him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord and to offer a sacrifice.

Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.

Inspired by the Spirit he came into the temple; and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him according to the custom of the law, he took him up in his arms and blessed God and said, “Lord, now let your servant depart in peace, according to your word; for my eyes have seen your salvation which you have prepared in the presence of all peoples, a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people Israel.” ...

(very loosely from the Gospel of Lk 2: 22–35)

I pray that this text finds you recognizing our God manifest in the Holy Innocents.

I pray that we may all have a day of being lifted by God's mercy and promise.

Please pray for all those listed in all the parts of the litany from last Tuesday (Part 1)(Part 2)(Part 3)(Part 4).
