From Domestic Liturgy:
Gaudete Sunday
Jesus began to speak to the crowds concerning John:
“What did you go out into the wilderness to behold?
A reed shaken by the wind? Why then did you go out? To see a man dressed in soft robes? Behold, those who wear soft robes are in kings’ houses.
Why then did you go out? To see a prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet. This is he of whom it is written,
‘Behold, I send my messenger before your face,
who shall prepare your way before you.’
Truly, I say to you,
among those born of women there has arisen no one greater than John the Baptist;
yet he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.”
(from the Gospel of Matthew)
I pray that this text finds you understanding.
I pray that we may all have had a day to "Rejoice (Gaudete) in the Lord always.”
The theme of the day expresses the joy of anticipation at the approach of the Christmas celebration.
Please pray for all those listed in all the parts of the litany from last Monday.
PEACE ✌ † 🙏 🐕🦺
