From Morning Prayer:

St. Matthew, Apostle


As Jesus passed by, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the customs post; and he said to him,

“Follow me.”

And he rose and followed him.


... Go and learn what this means,

‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’

For I came not to call the righteous,

but sinners.”

(from Mt 9: 9-13)

I pray that this text finds you with wisdom.

I pray that we may all have had a day of being called.
