From Morning Prayer:
Saint James the Greater, Apostle, Martyr, Patron of laborers
... And He said to her,
"What do you want?"
She said to Him, "Command that these two sons of mine may sit, one at your right hand and one at your left, in your kingdom."
But Jesus answered,
"You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the chalice that I am to drink?"
They said to him, "We are able."
He said to them,
"You will drink my chalice, but to sit at my right hand and at my left is not mine to grant, but it is for those for whom it has been prepared by my Father." ...
(from the Gospel of Mt. 20: 20-28)
I pray that this text finds you hearing and seeing and understanding God's love for you.
I pray that we may all have had a day of not thinking of God in human terms.
Please pray for all those listed in all the parts of the litany from last Monday (Part 1), (Part 2), (Part 3), (Part 4), (Part 5).
